Narsil:
- From The Lord of the Rings:
Narsil was the sword of Elendil, forged by the dwarf Telchar of Nogrod.
Elendil perished in battle with Sauron at end of the Second Age of the
World, and Narsil broke beneath him as he fell. But Sauron was
defeated, and Isildur, Elendil's son, used the hilt-shard of Narsil to
cut the One Ring from the hand of Sauron. The shards of Narsil were
preserved at Imladris (Rivendell) by Elrond and reforged for Aragorn as
Anduril near the end of the Third Age.
